Deciding what type of log you will use in the construction of your log home is a very personal choice, as your selection of log will greatly affect the overall appearance of your house. Certain log shapes and corners are "married", that is, certain log shapes have a certain style of meeting at the corner. For example, our massive 14" round logs are joined at the corner with a saddle notch, while our 6" by 12" square cut logs are joined by the classic dovetail method. Interchanging these corner styles is not always possible depending on the log shape. You can decide what suits your own personal style best.
